Pottery

I trained as a studio potter at Birmingham School of Art in the late 1960’s. After leaving college I spent the next thirty five years in the gift business, designing, manufacturing and distributing gift items all over the World.

In 2000 I returned to studio pottery eventually setting up a workshop in Ledbury, having a one man show at Tinsmiths and working with the fine artist Peter Arscott.

For a few years I worked with a young potter, Fleen Doran, developing hand thrown porcelain domestic pottery for the kitchen and home.

In 2015 Fleen took over the pottery allowing me time to set up my woodwork shop and start my new late career in guitar and furniture building, with a few rare visits back to my potter’s wheel.

Fleen continues to make pots and teach in Ledbury.

Porcelain Pots, a few examples of pots still available from Fleen’s website.

Pottery history, where it all began…

My pots from the late 1960’s and my first kiln build, an electric top loader built in 1968.
